Now that we have e-books on the market (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters), we decided to get a Kindle into the office to see how it works.
Yesterday marked the first time I’ve ever flipped through a users’ guide from beginning to end. I can’t help playing with new toys! The E Ink is a bit eerie because the screen looks almost the same when it’s off or on-the off mode just shows me a static picture provided by the Kindle.
I’ve seen everything literary from photos of authors like Jane Austen to images of illuminated manuscripts. I’m actually excited to turn the Kindle off because I haven’t yet seen the same image twice! I still favor the texture and aroma of printed books, but the kindle offers an interesting reading experience. Most of the features are fairly intuitive, but everyone I showed it to wanted a touch screen to navigate around the page. Luckily, a Sony Reader Touch Edition is on its way to the office so we can decide which one we like best.
