I have long wanted to ask the employees here which books are their favorites, and why. So, I’ll begin the discussion with my top 5! Just let me grab my catalog, here. These are in no particular order:
1. Gig Posters Volume 1: This book will be published in June. It’s truly an object of desire and a thing of beauty! Filled with arty posters for bands and information about the artists and their creations, I wanted it, wanted to take it for my own, right away. Plus, you can rip out the posters and frame/hang them. How useful!
2. The Peanut Butter & Co. Cookbook: I am a creature who enjoys the most useful books, and I love to cook. Plus, I love peanut butter. So, you can see how this book would be among my faves. For weeks, months even, after we received our copies, I was hauling in peanut buttery treats for the office. I recommend the Peanut Butter-Blueberry Muffins, Peanut Butter Granola, Cold Sesame Noodles, and the Peanut Butter Crispy Rice Treats, which I sold a whole container of, at once, during a yard sale.
3. While I enjoy the most useful books, I also love things that make me laugh out loud. Totally ridiculous things. Therefore, The Museum of Kitschy Stitches, with it’s biting commentary on outlandish knitting projects, takes the cake. My sister almost peed her pants when she read it. I had to point her to the bathroom. (Sorry, if that’s embarrassing, D!)
4. OK, so technically, this is 2 books, but Field Guide to Herbs and Spices and Field Guide to Dreams result in a tie. I use both, equally, since I have strange chase dreams a lot (the second most common kind), and I’m always looking into spicing up my food. Hm, maybe the spicy food is causing the wacky dreams.
5. The Spotter’s Guide to the Male Species: Yes, girls check out boys as much as boys check out girls. And a girl has to be savvy, these days. Enter this book, a cheeky take on a bird book. (But it’s a man book, instead!) It’s compact, just right for hiding in your jacket, pulling out and sticking it in the fold of your bigger book, so it looks like you’re doing some serious reading in the park, all the while you are checking out the males walking by. I don’t do this, by the way.
There you have it! My top five, though it sure was tough to choose only 5. I mean, there’s I’m Fine, Campfire Cuisine, Sci-Fi Baby Names (great “expecting” gift!), and much more. I now invite my fellow Quirkers to share their top 5.
G’day!

Here’s mine!
1. Kitchen Garden Box - And not just because I acquired it! I really love this box, and the easy-peasy info it contains is invaluable to the veggie gardener.
2. Cat Owner’s Manual - Great info, and the illustrations make me giggle every time.
3. This Saint’s for You - An underappreciated tome of fun and interesting stories and lovely repros of holy cards.
4. Field Guide to Cookies - Well, ok, what I really enjoyed was sampling the cookies from the photo shoot, but I do plan to make some of my own too!
5. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - Of course! Quirk’s own Jason Rekulak invents a new literary genre that shall be copied for ages! Jane would love it!!

1. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: As a publishing person, this book is a dream project. Creative, entertaining, and connecting in a large way with a consumer audience. I love being a part of this book!
2. Dog Owner’s Manual: As the proud parent of three (yeah I said THREE) fur-kids, I just love this book. Full of great information with just the right amount of humor. Buy for puppy parents everywhere!
3. Action Heroine Handbook: Because a world where women kick a whole lot of butt is a better place.
4. Colorstrology: I love pitching this title & watching everyone flip to their birthday to learn more about themselves.
5. Shatnerica: Do I even need to say why?

No particular order:
1) Cat Owner’s Manual
2) Dog Owner’s Manual
Love the way they are set out - as if pets are some malfunctioning machines!
3) Worst Case Scenario - University
4) Secret Lives of Great Authors
5) Secret Lives of Great Artists
I’d probably have more to  if you produced more and stocked more in Australia - they are so hard to find! Are there any stockists that have most of your range?
