A great way to begin to start making some positive changes in your internal life is to make some changes in your surroundings. Not all of us are lucky enough to be able to win a brand new living room on The Price is Right or be selected for a home makeover reality show. But painting a room a new color (even just an accent wall) creates a change in your home or apartment that’s almost as drastic. So move all your stuff to the middle of the room, throw down some newspaper, and get to painting!
Two words of caution from personal experience: (1) Don’t look up when you’re painting a ceiling, and (2) if your landlord is looking for reasons to not give you back your security deposit, don’t paint your walls a deep red (unless you want to spend a fortune on primer).
